Jose Mourinho claims he is a better coach at Manchester United
Mourinho claims to be more mature emotionally as he plots Premier League title assault with Manchester United
It’s been a strong start to the 2017/18 season for Jose Mourinho, with Manchester United wiping the floor with every team they have faced with the exception of Stoke City.
The Red Devils are bang in the title race despite it being early days, with Mourinho claiming that United are benefitting from having him at a later stage in his career.
Mourinho has had a decorated managerial career which has seen him win Champions League titles with Porto and Internazionale, while he has also been relatively successful at Chelsea and Real Madrid.
However, the Portuguese claims that he is now a more mature person in control of his emotions even if he’s playing down his team’s flying start to the campaign.
“I am a much better coach today, precisely because of the different control of my emotions, the way I deal with difficulties. I feel more mature,” he said.
Asked about United’s impressive start to the season, the Portuguese replied: “Nothing happened yet. Last year the season started much harder and ended very well, this year it started very well and we don’t know how it will end.
“In another league it could be said that a team that starts with seven wins and a draw would almost mean the title, but in England it doesn’t mean anything, not even that we will finish in the first four places.”
